As you know we're always on the lookout for tasty and different goodies from around the world, we have stumbled across these new desert bars called Nanaimo Bars!
Pronounced, nah-nahy-mo, and named after the city in British Columbia, they are three layers crunchy biscuit, butter, cocoa and coconut base, a sweet, creamy custard middle and solid chocolate top. And they are now available in Out of the Woods for you to try!
These sweet treats have made their way to Yorkshire thanks to a lovely Canadian who moved to Leeds this year! Alley Oman has very kindly decided to share these handmade treats with us after setting up her company, Fayre by Alley.
She has set out to create a delicious and unique Canadian taste experience in Yorkshire. Its feature product is the Nanaimo Bar, which has been called ‘Canada’s Favourite Confection’. True to form, Alley's taken the 'Traditional' Nanaimo bar flavour and created variations such as Cin-Ful (cinnamon), Ginger Snap!, Canadian Winter (Mint), Canadian Sunrise (Orange)...with a few more in the works.
We hope to start stocking a few more of the flavours soon, so for now come and try the traditional bar and let us know what you think! Only £1 for each piece!
